Faintly, the crackling of a fire. Below, a faint orange light begins to rise, taking over the darkness.

Fire sparks rise up quickly and die just as fast.

The orange light is brighter now, it takes shape.

A camp fire resting above some logs, the only light that shines tonight from this lonely forest.

I FOUND YOU

Prom night. Cars, limos, dropping off boys in tuxedos, girls in obnoxioulsy bright dresses, as the banner to enter the school gym announces: WELCOME CAVALIERS TO A NIGHT IN PARIS!

Couples locking arms go in, get their tickets stamped by the teacher at the front, kids laughing, talking, everybody ready to have a nice night.

Magnificent
Mia Corral

Violet's eyebrows narrow in the direction in which her Nana
leaves. Her glasses nearly fall. She pushes them back on the
bridge of her nose.

Nana comes right back in with a leather book in her hands.
She takes a seat next to Violet.

NANA (CONT'D)
Now. This is no ordinary fairytale
child.
